    Darktable

I've had a few plays, the latest version apparently has AI noise reduction. I find the interface a disaster, it's vastly over complicated for my taste. I saw a video of a slimmed down version that looks better. My biggest grip is you can't select multi images and edit on the fly like LR. I...

I don't have that model but when you zoom in it should show a number on the screen or viewfinder. You need 50 or nearest. The 50m is what's called " standard " focal length on a 35mm film camera. Modern full frame digital cameras have a similar size sensor. Crop sensor cameras have smaller...

So much for the success of AI replacing the human touch!

I suspect covid did a lot of damage to the pubs. People who used to go to the pub every night had to stay in, so they bought cans instead. by the end of the week they realized they were paying a pint price for 4 pint cans, thus saving a lot of money (or getting more squiffy for the same money...

    WAMT....what annoyed me today!

Not the word that comes to mind.... One I wouldn't trust to tie his shoe laces. The last one, knew his suff ( called in by the previous company because they didn't have the foggiest) he took one look yesterday, got the right part today and had it fitted in about half hour.

    WAMT....what annoyed me today!

It's taken 5 plumbers and electricians 7 days and 7 visits to change the emersion heater element. Heaven help how long a new boiler will take.

    Renting out your gear?

Personally I wouldn't hire gear, I might let a mate borrow something, but hire to a stranger, no. I can see why someone might do it. My question is who is liable for damage or theft. Will normal photo gear insurance cover hiring out gear? I suspect not. The other concerns are your loss of...

Wedding Photographer hasn't delivered photos two years on....

Get someone to contact them with a view to booking a wedding or working for them, ask to see some samples and or meet them, Then with any luck you'll have their address or car reg number and some details. As this appears to be a scam I wonder if the police might be interested?

Feedback - How to react to it?

Just say " it's not AI, but it's so good AI trys to look like my pictures " and grin.

    How Many Shots?

Mine varies with what I'm shooting. My own stuff is mostly a few shots here and there, maybe a hundred or so is it's a somewhere special, usually more like half a dozen or so. On the other hand at a wedding I'll shoot 600 to a 1000 easy over 2 cameras,

    Off Camera Wireless Flash Triggering.

    Sorry Mark. My bad.

    Off Camera Wireless Flash Triggering.

The ones Mark (demiloin) suggests will work fine. I've got the clever all singing and dancing ones, but the ones in my bag as I speak look like the ones mark linked. They just work every time I try them. Ok there's no ETTL and I have to touch the flash to change setting. Frankly I think it's...

I've got an idea for the energy, just a matter of time to go and shoot it. I did a recce last week and shot a few pics, but on the Sony compact set to 50mm. I'll nip over with the Canon when I get chance.

    Micro sd cards?

Probably give the amazon a go. 7day shop seem to be mostly out of stock as well. My mates bought about half a dozen cards overthe last month from various places, and they are all fakes. Two 128gb showed 112mb when I ran a test.
