    White dots on images

I could do with some advice please, all of the images I have taken this week with my Canon 750D have had a great deal of white dots on them which are easily seen & this happens with both jpeg & raw images. When I zoom in on the images on my laptop they look like white pixels, I took a couple of...

    Photography shop or John Lewis?

I got my Canon 750D from John Lewis in Newcastle, sadly it developed a fault & was sent off for repair & a couple of weeks later after I got it back it developed another fault, John Lewis weren't happy about it so they replaced everything & restarted the 2 year warranty from that date & the the...

    Beginner Macro

Funny you should mention a 50mm lens as I have been thinking of getting the Canon 50mm F1.8 as maybe a portrait lens but also for maybe macro with extension tubes as you have done

    Beginner Macro

Thanks for that info Mike, the Canon 35-80mm lens once you remove the front elements can magnify to 1:7 but you loose the AF function of the lens so focusing has to be done via moving the camera back & forth to get the focus from everything I have read up on the mod of this lens but I think this...

    Lens choice for Aurora Borealis

I would think that you should be able to capture it ok with your 10-20mm lens at F3.5 ok yes a faster lens would be better but I have managed to capture the Aurora off the NE coast in the UK fine using my kit lens at F3.5 yes my results weren't as good as some of my friends but I was still happy...

    Beginner Macro

I'm thinking of trying out some macro photography mainly for days when i'm not well enough to leave the house. If i'm honest I don't want to really to spend a lot of money on a macro lens in case I find it isn't my thing so was thinking of maybe getting some extension tubes to go onto my 18-55mm...

    Canon kit lens upgrade

Thanks for the feed back & sorry for the late reply but had the granddaughter stopping with us. I can't see me parting company with my 750D any time soon so will see if I can pick up a EF-S 17-55 lens second hand or at least start saving up for one, I had been thinking of possibly the Tamron...

    Canon kit lens upgrade

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what would be a good upgrade for the Canon 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 IS STM lens that came with my 750D. Being a bit of a newbie to the world of dslr's I don't know a great deal on what's good & what's not, tbh the kit lens seems ok to me & the AF is...

    Dead/hot pixels

After a factory reset & scouring through all of the menus again found that the viewfinder was unticked in the menu where the copyright info is so ticked it & switched grid option 1 on & it is now showing up in the viewfinder. This must have been switched on at the factory on my first one but not...

    Dead/hot pixels

I know how to select it & it makes no difference if you select grid 1 or 2 neither will show in the viewfinder like my first one did but with this one all you get is the focus points & camera settings so I think it must be a software issue or something along those lines

    Dead/hot pixels

Well I seem to have no luck at all as my replacement Canon 750D is also faulty in that the grids for your thirds etc will not display in the viewfinder at all so it'll be going back for another replacement but this will be the last time because if I get another faulty one I will be giving up on...

    Dead/hot pixels

Another update, after taking around 80 shots I got hit again with even more hot & dead pixels this time some of them were in large clusters so to say I was a little unhappy is an understatement so contacted John Lewis about it & the guy who I spoke to said it wasn't on & would I like a refund or...

    Dead/hot pixels

Update After 3 weeks I have got my 750d back & all of the dead & hot pixels are no longer showing up & the technical info was Canon have done a sensor clean & re-calibrated the camera so I take it that they have just mapped out these pixels which has all been done under warranty. Now here's the...

    Dead/hot pixels

It got returned to the shop it came from & they have sent it off to Canon so now have a 2-4 week wait

    Dead/hot pixels

I was doing between 15 & 30 second exposures at night which I have done several times with this camera & never had this issue before until Saturday night. I did the manual sensor clean to try & map these pixels out & it did remove some of them but it can't seem to remove the 11 i'm stuck with...
