i got a manfrotto one from jessops a week or so ago, it was about £30 and seems pretty good, but the more you spend the better they are! I'm sure i'll upgrade in time but then i'll know better what i need it to do

The oldies i know seem to play golf & watch countdown. Gardening is also v popular, i agree that National Trust places & Gardens, eg Eden project, Kew & RHS Wisley are where older folk love to relax with afternoon tea.

i did some at 1/200, my son sitting still & some at 1/320 running about. Iso was 400 & focal lengths using the range, they all seem not very sharp. I had another go yesterday but havent got any pics to post up, long story, i will have another go tomorrow & if i cant get it sorted, it might go...

I would have selected the right focus point as this would be towards the top of the frame when in portrait orientation thereby allowing me to concentrate the focus on the horses head, as the horse approached I would place the focus point on the subject and keep the shutter half pressed to allow...
