‘Cos I’d like to have the option of something smaller and lighter than tripod and gimbal. My carbon tripod is very light, but the gimbal is pretty big and heavy. If I was going I’m carry the gimbal I might as well take the tripod as well.

I’d like to use my monopod with my Swiss Arca plates and long lenses, but I am struggling to find a head that offers this. The only one I have found was the Benro DJ90, but strangely it wouldn’t quite tighten on any of my various brand plates (all of which work with my Wimberly gimbal). Dunno...

Thanks, I think I’d agree if the bird was clamping the berry more, just looks a bit like it’s eating with its mouth open! Never happy!

It looks like Lowepro used to make an accessory called the Trekker Tripod Mount, a sort of fabric cup which attached to various parts of the bag and held the tripod feet whilst the top of the legs were secured to the bag. My Google skills have failed me and I can't find it for sale anywhere, or...

Sheffield end of Stanage Edge is usually good for grouse and with parking and a flat path. There are some amazing deer around at the moment, generally on Big Moor behind White Edge.

Thanks a lot. I agree that the 2 purples are not so nice as the others. There's something not quite right on the first, and the second was taken in pouring rain at high ISO. It seemed very hard to capture their amazing colours on film. Oh well, next time!
