    Which lens for astrophotography?

My entire collection of northern lights was shot with a 24mm, and there's nothing wrong with my collection. Only a few times have I wished for a wider angle. I found 24mm to be a bit limiting for the Milky Way, though..

    Beginner Moving water?

I think 1/3 is enough to show movement in a waterfall. It would be nice to see your results. An alternative to the 6-stop ND (although, I think this is an excellent recommendation), is to simply wait for it to get darker. Consider your distance from the waterfall. If you are far away from a...

    Aurora Borealis questions

Just a few things to add to these excellent answers. Aperture, my lens was high quality f/1.4. If I photographed auroras at f1.4 there would be noticeable coma in the corners even if the focus is good. My go-to for Northern lights was 2.8 which still give a little coma, but hardly noticeable...

    Aurora Colours

Colourful Northern Lights on the Glacier lagoon at Jökulsárlón in South Iceland. This was a moonless night which I would recommend for beter colours.

Beginner Cameras for high quality videos?

Good technique is the best way to master hand-held video without the shakes. It is easier than you think and just involves the angle of your hand... have your palm facing you. Why not search for a second hand Canon 5D3. You can easily find one for under 500 quid. The video is top notch.

It's a wonderful scene. I like how the mist lets you see more sometimes.

    Brunahorn Mountain

This is Brunahorn Mountain in East Iceland. Brunahorn is known locally as the 'Batman' mountain... can you see it? I took this photo with Canon 5D and 24mm prime lens. I balanced the exposure with the Magic Cloth Technique.
