    Manchester - Couriers & Posting question ...

Try paisley freight (think that's what they are called) - have used them in the past and found it good for large items. They have mixed reviews, but I've no complaints from my experiences.

    Snowdon for astro and sunrise.

Cheers Wayne - sounds like good advice!

    Which A4 printer

I've had a few, currently have a Pro9000, IX5600 and and MP650 (not 100% sure thats the correct model) - all have worked well and for photos recommend canon paper, works just as well with the compact inks, as the originals (the originals for canon's aren't what id call overly expensive). Anyone recommend a good place to start

More towards shooting and setting-up - although location wise, I'm assuming somewhere without cloud? and form looking around, it should be treated like a landscape and inlcude foreground interest.

What have you done with your camera today

Tried out a new lens for the X-T1 (50-230) and made a paracord strap for it (which i'm pretty pleased with!)

Anyone recommend a good place to start

had a brief look through the forum, but can't find a decent guide to trying astrophotography - can anyone recommend a good forum thread or online article to read?

Advice on shooting starry skies close to a light source

surely the green halo effect adds to the sense of light "pollution"? combining 2 exposures will be the best solution, and give you greater control over the look of the pic (although you may risk it looking a little unreal, if you don't get quite it right)

    1st attempt at stars

id be happy with both those shots - first or fiftieth attempt! composition and colours are spot on.

    More Lake District

Oh and what focal length is no.2?

    More Lake District

go to agree with the above comments on well on no.1 slightly blue & 3 looks a little too much - the bridge kind of stands out too much for me (if that was toned down a bit, then it would be a great pic. I actually think no.2 is a cracking landscape - b&w always works for me.

    Which A4 printer

I personally rather like the Canon pixma MP range - superb quality and reliability (imho) and compatible inks are very cheap and work as well as the originals.
