I had a few days work up in Edinburgh last week which I extended into a short tour around Scotland. Starting in St.Monans. And travelling North via the Hermitage. More to follow as I finish them.

I like no. 2 Alf. The cloud line seems to echo the wave lines well.

That's what gaffa tape was invented for.... I always have a roll in the van for general fixings and jury rigging, and on one occasion, with a broken tripod, that did a pretty good job of securing the camera to the head for me. It's also been used to repair torn waterproofs, strap a loose sole...

That's the longest so far then. The others were about ten and a half minutes by the looks of the Exif. on my files. They certainly don't give you much time to mess about. Putting gunpowder into the air is pretty expensive I guess.

I use an old Vivitar 283 flash unit. I can set it to my working aperture and fire it off manually and it will sort it's own exposure out. Perhaps not quite as flexible as using a torch but very simple and powerful.

My shots were taken from between the Central and South Piers. First lot from the prom second lot from the beach. Any closer and the crowds are a problem in my opinion.

Difficult to know. Do they do it at the Hoe? I would imagine that would work well.
