    Even though we live in the country here, we couldn't quite believe the stars over there - Milky Way stretching from horizon to horizon, and two other galaxies visible in the form of the magellanic clouds, amazing !

    Thanks folks, yes the light was fantastic but we were cursed with three weeks of brilliant sunshine which is not quite so photogenic except at dawn and dusk. But can't really complain about that ... We had a little more weather to play with in the last week.

    We spent April touring round New Zealand in a campervan and loved every minute of it. About 10 days in the North Island, and then the rest in the South - which I must say knocks the north into a cocked hat. I've linked to three slideshows of my favourites below, the third is most scenic...

    Popped over to Happisburgh for the first time yesterday, about an hour after high tide and was treated to a bit of wave action. It was pretty calm yesterday, so I'd love to see it with heavier seas ! All with a 50mm

    A couple from this morning on the beach at Horsey. You have to stay on the dunes as they have pups, but one of the pups crawled right up the dunes to have a look at me. Digger Curious chap

    Thanks, I don't really use flash until it becomes to dark to get anything decent, sometimes starting with the speeches, usually the dancing. In that show the first flash shot is the speech one in the teepee at 1:53 to go.

    Lenses do not maketh the photographer ;) Having said that I used to use an 85 1.2 but got fed up with the weight.

    It was a gecko on a lemur on a blue whale, made by one of their friends ... Why ? I haven't a clue !
