Long winded post warning!
I used to frequent this forum quite a bit, but unfortunately over the past couple of years I have been doing less photography and don't really feel much inspiration nowadays - but I am looking to change that!
A bit of background - I got into photography whilst at...
A quick edit/update to reflect a recent move to Brighton. I haven't really touched my camera for a few months, so I'm hoping I can find someone nearby to help me get back into photography!
Area: Brighton
Sex: Male
Age: 26
Types of photography: I'm open to almost anything. I have experience in...
The Hama tripod was pretty good for the price and did the job, but it needed a 10 second timer or remote to avoid shake. I have since upgraded to a carbon fibre Manfrotto 190CX which is light enough for travel, yet solid enough (with a pretty meaty 3 Legged Thing ball head) for my gripped bodies...
Ah well, I guess I spent too long deliberating! I hope they reduce the Extreme 60mb/s cards soon as I wasn't sure if the 30mb/s would be fast enough for video and clearing the buffer on the 7D when bursting.
I installed a 128GB Samsung 830 SSD in my sister's Aluminium MacBook (2.0GHz) and it works great, a nice boost in speed/snappiness. I have the 256GB version in my mid 2010 15" Pro which has never given me any problems, so highly recommended.
I have also removed the SuperDrive and installed an...
Thanks for the replies. I think I'll try seeing how much a proper repair would be, and failing that I'll try a bit of glue. I used the lens today (with the switch taped on) and it seemed to perform perfectly normally.
I took my Canon 35mm f1.4L out of my camera bag just now and noticed the AF/MF switch was hanging out! It would seem that one of the little clips which holds it in place has broken. The switch still works (the ribbon cable was still intact) and the lens works/AFs fine, so I have temporarily...

I have been asked to help choose a digital camera for work (having used my DSLR at a few events people seem to think I am a photography expert!) and I must admit that I am not too clued up with the current compact market so I though I would ask here for some advice! I did have a search through...

Thanks for the comments guys, I too can't believe how quick this year has gone by (and how I've managed to think of an idea every day!)
I'm afraid the photo (day 350) isn't one of my stronger ones (and not what I had planned to do for TP day) so I haven't submitted it, but if you really want...
I just realised that I completely forgot about TP day! I even had a photo idea lined up! Maybe next time...
