I'm waiting to buy as well, just holding out until Nikon sorts out the oil/dust/scratch issues. It'll be a pain to keep sending it off for cleaning, especially if I end up buying a grey import.

My travel setup is pretty light, though I do bring a travel angel tripod along. In the order of most used to least:- 1) 12-24mm 2) 35mm f1.8 3) 85mm f1.8 The prime lenses are used when I revisit the more interesting locations, since its nice to have a different perspective to the views.

Contact Kenro for the address of the repair company that they outsource to. That's probably your best bet to get it serviced locally. Neither Kenro or nor Tokina EU will accept the lens for repairs even if you intend to pay them.

Same here, thinking of moving up to FX but not sure if the goodies justify the cost. Better AF and a bigger viewfinder are probably the only two things that interest me. At this point I'm going to wait a few months for D600, and if it doesn't materialise I'll buy a D700.

Indeed, I should have phrased it better. Meant to say the 28mm F1.8G on FX is the equivalent of the 12mm on DX.

Agreed! Wide angle options are pretty lacking on DX but the Tokina 12-24 has been serving me well. Thanks for mentioning the 28mm f1.8G though, I didn't know that lens existed. Its the equivalent of 12mm on the DX so it looks like I'll have my most used focal lengths covered for under 1k :lol...
