The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

It was a bargain imo.
Fair enough but with no box and it's a used camera the saving over new didn't tempt me. If I want one I'll buy new or a used one that tempts me. Still haven't made my mind up if I'll get one or not. If I keep on thinking the MKIV might tempt me.

I don't know many photographers who have changed to sony but most video guys i know have changed to either sony or panasonic now.

i know a couple of them are intently waiting on A7SIII.

I know a lot of photographers at least 30-40 of them have switched too Sony since the A7III became available.

i always felt the main prohibition for switching to sony was the lack of cheaper 3rd party lens options and/or used market.

Just think of how much cheaper the III will be when the A7IV comes out ;)

For most of the guys I know the cost wasn’t really the issue. The iffy a.f on the older versions was the reason they didn’t switch sooner.

A lot like myself waited for the Nikon & Canon announcements before making the jump.

Weird, definitely says 2 years on the John Lewis site.

These warranty thing don't bother me, have insurance so the cost is just the excess no matter what, which is about £50 you would be saving.

It is 2 years for you if you buy now.
JJ! got it for 3 years which you can't get now because they have stopped doing it for whatever reason. They are not bound to provide any more than the standard one year so they are free to change what they provide out of "good will".

Had the notion of trying contre-jour/abstract today in the noon day sun. Chose some shrubs and trees. Here are two I liked and two Mrs CharleyB preferred.

But is it art ;)

Well anyway, it was fun

I want the Sony A9 II to have a Pregius and Starvis technology :D

Is there any rumors of a IV? It’s been mentioned a few times but I thought the III was still pretty new

Nope, doubt we’ll see a replacement to the A7 III for 2 years approx.
Sony A7S III next with rumours of a new APS-C A9 type camera in a A7 designed body. :)
12-13 more FE lenses on the way also.

You'll probably have a fair bit of warning, the A7R IV should be out before the A7 IV.

The technology is pretty sound at this point though, I'm hoping they focus on usability.

Nice idea I like that. The couple look a little lost there though I think it’s because of the dark background behind them. If you had of moved them to the left so that the yellow painted part of the brick wall was behind them they would have stood out more. Not sure if it would have improved it or not but that’s what I would have done. Or maybe had them take a few steps forward and crouched down and shot up so they where larger in the frame. That may not have been the nicest perspective though.

agreed,i prefer your 2nd shot you posted

They are lost in the graphic. Especially her hair is covering the entirety of her face.

She's looking at him hence not seeing her face. Like I say I've about 10 variants from this. I like this one, looks grand on a big screen.

I know you can’t see her face, because she is looking at him...that is self evident. It is also self evident that all that brown and dark colour is lost in the graphic.

I’m sure you have more but I’m not commenting on the others, I haven’t see the others, I’m commenting on the one I can see here and the one here is that they are lost in the graphic.
