In search of Asha

@excalibur2 Click on the envelope icon next to your name at the top right of the screen, and you can select all there. It may show everything you are looking for I think

I haven't tracked down exactly when he moved, but I can at least confirm that it was after 2019 as I have a DPD email confirming the old address in Sospel from 2019.

Asha bought my 5x4 pinhole camera in March 2021 and he was in Sospel then.

Thanks....Like Asha I had a shock and didn't post for a while and the same words Asha said "not very good" still haunt me and thought if we knew his name could check if he is in hospital somewhere.

Well for me it's my memory versus fact o_O and IIRC?????? he stayed in Sospel but moved to a different address.

The only way to access them is by clicking the "envelope" top right and then click show all from the drop down menu.

I'm afraid I've just had a bounce back from the mail server due to the mailbox no longer existing. That was a Hotmail.fr account, I don't know if Asha had another one too?

If it includes a date, that's the one he's registered here with.
If that's the case then he can't log in, until its "updated"

AAMOI the address Asha gave me in 2016 started with "33" etc
 
Asha bought me some Lab-box gear in February last year (from Ars-Imago who wouldn't ship to the UK cos Brexit...), it seems he was living in a different place than Sospel then (I have the address, the street number was 11). I also have him on my WhatsApp and have just sent him a message.
 
The only email I have for Asha is the hotmail one. And he did move from Sospel to an 11 address, which was his current one when he went to visit his mother - the penultimate message I received from him was on the day after he arrived. The last message, I referred to above.

I probably have a contact email for a district nurse in Sospel who attended him, and I know the first name of a consultant in a hospital ditto. But in neither case would I expect a reply from a stranger to a query about a patient.

It did and was "Asha" which could be his real name as the first three letters could be christian and the last surname as I too have a four letter name.......erm real not nickname o_O ;)
 
Asha is his full name. This caused us a bit of difficulty, as my bank would not accept it as valid when I tried to pay him! Apparently mine is one of the fussy ones. We found another way.

He once told me he much preferred pen and paper to all this electronic stuff, which is consistent with his photography style, LF cameras and enlarging. So I have sent him a postcard with a nice film image and a message of thanks, appreciation and support, mentioning us as well. Pretty much a long shot, but worth a try.

I have a mobile number for him, I would have last used it around 2012 I think, so no idea if it's still valid...
 
No further update on this? I'm saddened thinking something not so good may have befallen him, I miss him posting on the site.

If only we had his full name it would be possible to do a search on the internet........my bother in law (being ex police) used to do part time private detective work and told me he could find out details about most people.
 
So he's still in France but not the same area as before as far as we know?

Asha is his full, legal name, he told me. Caused all kinds of bother when I tried to pay him for something, Barclays just weren't having it!

Yes, I know his (last) address.

Asha did disappear for quite a long time a few years ago, and then came back as chirpy as ever. I'm holding to that prospect.

If I can remember correctly the French authorities couldn't cope with his mono-moniker and insisted he have two names, so to please the pen pushers his official name is Asha Asha.

Like @ChrisR I too am holding out for his chirpy return.

At one point he was also Asha XXXX which also raised eyebrows...
 
I've been off this forum for a long time until recently. Sad to hear he's done a runner too. Like Excaliber says, he did/does have a Mother in the Isle of Man. We were hoping to meet up back in 2016, but i wasn't free on the day he was here.
I do hope he's okay and just taking a hiatus. He did mention to me that he was a loner, so hoping he's just taking some "me time" and will be back eventually.

I will give an update, such that it is(although, I'm sure Asha won't thank me but....).
Asha is very unwell, and has been for some time. I have all his details, but he no longer replies to any messages.
He is still 'with us', but that is all I know.

I wish I could give better news to be honest. I have not spoken to Asha for well over a year, and although I knew he had been ill for some time, I can no longer get any response from him.
I had to do a fair bit of detective work just to find out that little bit of info.
 
Thanks for letting us know. Sad news but we can hope…
