Already seen a few posts from wedding photographers who really want this new lens.
Those that are now using the 28-70 f/2 seem very interested in it.
I don’t get it tbh. They want zooms to save carrying around multiple lenses but these zooms are much heavier.
I haven’t needed or wanted to use a grip since Jesus was a wee lad. Can do a wedding up to the speeches on one battery so a grip is pointless for me.
I don’t like grips as I prefer to wrap my little finger under the body, feels more secure to me too. I don’t find it any hardship turning the camera 90 degrees to shoot portrait orientation.

I’m flying to Poland Monday so need it for then.
I’ve just been looking at the 24GM, I can get it used for £649 but without the accessories, sadly I’ve not had much time to plan the trip otherwise I’d have ordered grey market and got the 35GM.
There is a school of thought that buying from WEX and returning it might work…

Might get next day delivery. Then if you sell it on your return it's much like renting
Personally I prefer the 35GM, but if you've got an R body or decent resolution (or don't mind lower resolution) get the 24GM and shoot in APSC for both focal lengths.

Out of interest do you find shooting panos with the 35mm you get an parallax effect? I’ve only done panos shooting with a wide angle and the parallax effect is a PITA.As I said, imo the 35GM is the better all round lens. If I need wider I just shoot a panorama. I have the Riii myself, I don't use crop mode but I'm sure it'll still give enough pixels

I’ve put the order through and they’ve said they’ll give me a call tomorrow to confirm and it’s now saying I might have to put down a £1500 deposit as it’s my first time renting 
I guess I am used to them and usually have at least one heavy lens on the go so they balance better with grips. They are also handy when your cameras are knocking against each other and give a wee bit more protection. The portrait controls are very handy too
