Rules for posting pics

I've looked but perhaps not hard enough. What rules must I follow when posting pics?
 
The site rules are here https://www.talkphotography.co.uk/help/rules/
There's guidance there about duplicate postings, posting in the appropriate forum etc.
The overiding rule is that we can only post photos that belong to us, or that we have prior written permission from the copyright owner to post.

So, don't post pics that you don't own. But you can post links to photos that are on other sites
 
Are images from PostImage allowed? I'm not keen on using Flickr anymore? I notice some other forums (Overclockers) have banned it (PostImage).

I've not used it but I don't see why not as long as the code inserted into this site doesn't include adverts and the images comply with the forum rules. If you do use it let us know how it goes (y)
 
Okay Thank you @sirch, I'll give it a shot next time I post something (being mindful of the regular rules too).
 
My understanding is that if you use a hot link for/with the image postimage is likely to use a redirect to adds/spam; and thats why they are often banned. But if you embed the image instead it should be fine.

Most generated links have both. e.g. this one from flickr.

But if I strip out everything but the embed portion it still works and breaks the redirect/hotlink issue.
