1.4x tc for Canon 85mm f1.8

Evening all

I realise that the Canon tc won't fit the 85mm 1.8, but is there a 1.4x tc out there that will (and give decent results)?

I'd have thought that's the only one that might work, purely down to the way it is constructed.

Canon's extenders feature a protruding front element as you can see below:

The 85mm, like many other lenses in Canon's range, features a flush rear element as seen below:

Guess what will happen if you try and mount that lens on that extender...

Pretty sure the Kenko will fit. It's certainly your best option.

How good it will be with that lens, I don't know, but as a rule wide angles and really fast apertures do not go well with TCs.

Thanks all. Think I just need to save up for a 135 or 200mm prime and stop messing about.
