1069 miles in a 28 year old car - all on film

9am. 10.06.26 Leg 1 of 2 to return home.

This now disused church is owned by the local agricultural engineer. His residence and business is to the right. On the left atop the container is a red primed lorry chassis and his Bentley is further to the left.

The church was originally built by John Ross, a missionary whose aim was to convert non-European "heathens" (his word) and he translated the New Testament into Korean, as you do. Occasionally groups of Koreans are seen outside the church in homage to their translator/converter.

I've been somewhat fascinated by this beast since seeing it yesterday and photographing as close as I can get today.

I now know it's a FPSO - floating production storage offloading vessel.

Edit - give me a minute to resize the Instax pics!
Not specific to this post, but just to say I'm enjoying your posts :-)

I've the final installment of day 3 and all day 4 photos developed and scanned but no WiFi for computer plus I'm shattered, will do them when I get home but after I've spent time with Mrs amc and teenage x 2 kids.

Pics from days 5, 6 and any from day 7 will be developed in the luxury of my darkroom when I get round to it, possibly early next week.

Thanks for viewing, reading, commenting and liking but for now, that's all folks!

Lovely breakfast at b&b inc haggis plus tattie scones (aka corners) of which three packets are currently giving my cameras a cuddle. Dunnae fret, I've consumed my fair share of square sausage/Lorne on my travels.

9.23am - Scotland exited near Gretna on A74(M)/M6 in suitably atrocious driving conditions. No photo's taken as the WindscreenCam (©™) is out of film.

Thank you Scotland, you've treated the Corsa and I very, very well.

Day 3 06.06.26 - Final

After all the Pride stuff had finished and before going to the pub we went a walk down the River Ness. Thicko me had already asked my mate how Inverness got its name and I hadn't even clicked on that the river was fed by that famous Loch that 110% has a monster living in it. Doh!

Then we went onto the Islands, basically Victorian landscaped pleasure gardens in the middle of the river.

My mate - apologies for cutting you in half when I opened the camera back without the film being rewound.

Day 4 07.06.26

Appropriately, being a Sunday, it was a day of rest for me. I needed to get a few bits of shopping and asked the hosts to remind to get the shops before they closed at 4pm. They looked at me perplexed. I hadn't realised there are, in effect, no Sunday trading laws up here and supermarkets stay open until 11pm - still can't get my head round that.

Mates partner did stunning home made pizza for everyone including their eldest who had returned back from Inverness after the v v big night out and the obligatory hangover.

Post dinner I bored them with talk of cameras whilst taking group shots.

Very relaxing day all round and good to have a break from driving and general busy-ness.

Day 5 08.06.26

The plan was to go to Beauly, a nice small town a short distance away, with my mates eldest and partner taking their car to join us before they went back to Inverness. As soon as we left the house we could see a fairly flat tyre on their car which had a known a slow puncture. I noticed the tyre was illegally bald on the outer edge. My mate leapt into action and we call into Alness's premier (read only) tyre/clutch/exhaust centre and motor factors.

Whilst the tyre was being replaced we went a walk round Alness

Really good place, torqued the tyre properly, gave mates eldest a firm but fair talking too about doing checks on cars etc and then the fitter and I had a good chat about Corsa's and how he shoe horned a big engine into his equivalent Corsa in the early millennium back "home" in Ireland.

The stack of alloys in the shots of my car at their place is to go on this.
