2d QR codes on 3d objects

Does anyone know how well QR codes work if placed on something 3d and they are 2d printouts or projections? I also wonder how well they scale and if there is a specific size range they work at for a specific distance range someone is away from them or whether they aren't fussy?

Anyone done much with QR codes?

i think as long as the 3d object doesnt distort the QR then it should still scan fine.
