Bradleigh, Personally I think this capture would be far better with out the birds, The birds just don't look like they should be there.
The younger looks like they are studding and far in thought.
It would be interesting to know what your thoughts were for creating this composite, for example, is there a story you are trying to tell or a theme?
For me it doesn't seem to convey any message and the composite doesn't work for a couple of reasons. The main one being the blacks in the birds don't match the blacks on the rest of the image, the other thing is that the birds feel to crowded together. Was there a reason for including three? It may have worked better with only one, particularly as I don't think I have ever seen three Herons (if that's what they are) flying so close together.
As an example, this guy on flickr does a lot of composites and in my opinion is very good at getting an idea or concept over with the image which I think helps pull it together.. Joel Robison
