I've been pondering recently. I love the Canon 50mm 1.8, it fills my world with (cheap) joy. The only problems with it, as far as I'm concerned, is that it sometimes struggles to focus in low light, and on my cropped body it's a little too long.
So, I was looking at something a little shorter, around the 30mm mark, which will work out at a 48mm equivalent unless my maths is shot. The lens will mostly be used for portrait-esque work outside the studio. I realise the length isn't ideal for portraits, but without a full frame body I don't have much choice. If I'm in houses/flats/gardens/offices/clubs/wherever I'm too restricted to use anything longer.
I've been looking at:
Sigma 30mm f/1.4
Canon 28mm f/2.8 (and the more expensive outsider f/1.8 USM)
Canon 35mm f/2.0
Does anyone have experiences of the above lenses, and fancies advising me? It'd be especially useful if anyone's used more than one and can make a comparison.
Thanks
