So, I've recently bought a 35mm prime and instantly fell in love with it!
I'm going to Brooklands Mini Day with my Cooper on Saturday and don't want to be carrying gear around, as I plan to buy parts for my car - so lightness is the game.

I was planning to just keep the 35mm on the camera and polariser filter in my pocket, should I need it - so my question is, would the 35 be out of it's depth? Would I be better off with the kit lens? As you can probably tell, i'm still learning, first car show with a DSLR.

Cheers,

Its never really a case of a lens not being able to shoot something, its more a case of what you want to shoot then picking the right lens or having the space to play around your subject.

Car shows are hard things to get much else apart from snapshots from - cars packed in, lots of people looking at the cars, nasty backgrounds. Should be no hindrance with your 35mm really.

Maybe have a play at some detail shots, although you might bore of those quite quickly...

Just have a play, enjoy the challenge!
