40D to 5D - Good or No Good?

I have a 40D but am thinking of upgrading to a 5D Classic since I can't afford anything more and with the 5D Mark II prices have dropped on the 5D. I like to do landscapes and sports photography. I am humming and hawing - any advice, recommendations.

I currently have the following Canon lenses: 50mm 1.8
70-200 f4L
24-105L
100mm Macro
10-22 wide angle

Yes, I know my 10-22 wont fit on the 5D - any suggestions to replace?

For landscape work the 5D is a superb camera but for sports it's AF is rather slow, bear in mind you won't be able to use the 10-22 as it's an ef-s lens
 
Landscapes - excellent choice, sports, not so. Can you keep the 40d for the sports and action shots and the 5d for the landscapes?

Replacement for the UWA - depends on budget really, either 17-40L or 16-35L. The former is much more affordable.
 
the Sigma 12-24mm will replace the 10-22mm.
Going full frame from a crop sensor when you have 2 L lenses can only ever be a good move.
L lenses are made for full frame sensors.
 
I'd say get one. I was going a similar route until I realized I could get 1Ds mkII for only slightly more.

Lenses seem fine to me. I would say try to use 24-105mm as your wide lens. 24mm will become very wide; I very rarely need to use wider than 24mm. If you still want wider, the options are 16-35 L / 17-40 L or perhaps Tamron 17-35 if you are pushed.

Strangely I don't like 100mm on FF at all; it is great on 40D though. It is now way too short for macro / portrait use. I want 180mm L.
 
Unless the UWA is a major issue for you, have you considered staying with a crop sensor like th 7d?
 
I did the same, good move it really notices on image quality however sometimes I do miss live view and the screen but not often. I 100% wouldn't go back to a crop!
