If you're worried about cashing US cheques, ask them to pay you through xoom.com, direct into your account. It costs them $4.95. Costs you nowt.

Wow, firstly, congratulations! Secondly, I do subscribe to Pop Photo (I only subscribed as it's just £19 for a year which is much cheaper than most of the UK photo mags) and they do seem to have a lot of reader photos in each issue, so I don't quite know why this wouldn't be a legit thing?
If you still have your doubts, why not call them on a main number (which I'm sure you can find on the net, or I'd be happy to have a look at the editorial section in my latest copy if you want) and ask to speak to the person who emailed you?
I shall look out for your image when it's printed and would be happy to send you the copy (usually arrives a few weeks later than it's published in the US I think as they send by sea rather than airmail)

Seriously, happy to help if you're stuggling. I've done it a thousand times for magazines I used to work on.
No problem with HSBC cashing cheques from Chase Manhattan- it's a BIG bank - or ask if they can pay by direct transfer - just supply them with your IBAN details (available from your branch if you ask...).

Editor has been in contact and they want me to provide a couple more pics and get it all to them for Monday as it's going to press later in the week!! I shall be in Spain by the time the money comes in, I have been told that they will only do a cheque and won't pay direct to a bank. Don't know if my spanish bank will take a dollar cheque!!
