Oh, I'm tempted too. I've emailed them asking if pick up is okay
Ebay wouldn't make them honour it as at the end of the day the seller is not actually obliged to sell if they decide not to. They are running a heavy risk of neg feedback though.

He might then send it and if it goes "missing" in the post he may do the honourable thing and refund the 99P purchase price

Not be long before they change the goal posts and get around it by including the shipping in the final fees.

eBay changed rules last year and put a maximum P&P price on many items including some photography items such as camera batteries and chargers.

The above is a blatant attempt at fee avoidance, something ebay take a very dim view upon.

It's really funny though how they give the reason thats its to be fairer to buyers when they tighten up on it when really its only so they can skim more profits. And some of the limits they place, for example if you sell dvds or blu-rays you can only charge £1. If its a boxset you simply cannot post for £1.
Because ebay force people to pay them as much as they can, that is why people try to get around the rules.

The maximum postage they imposed is stupid within some categories as like you say you can't post a box set for a £1. Whilst ebay don't take a percentage from the postage fees it may look like they are doing this method to increase there profits, but apart from that they are protecting buyers. If you have to return the item your not obliged to get the P&P costs back only the selling price. I can't see that camera auction now but guess it was a 99p buy it now with something like £500 postage. You would be extremely annoyed to receive the camera and it was broke to find out all you would be getting back is the 99p auction price. Which I expect the seller would refund without even asking for the item back lol

My mate sells a lot of cd's or dvd's on ebay, he can only charge £1 postage for the disc but makes it plain that you are only buying the disc at that price and poatage and that a case can be had for 1p but adding postage brings it to a realistic price. So far they haven't beaten him out yet.
