Hi All
Got a strange issue with my 50D body and what appears to be an exposure or shutter issue.
Problem appears to be if the shutter speed is higher than 2000 then it appears to have a shutter sync problem and almost what looks like image corruption.
I've attached 4 images as an example, 3 have the issue and one was taken seconds after the problem occurred and is normal. I've left all of the exif on the images
When I was working on the wedding it was a grey day so i was working with auto iso and spot metering, on a few occasions the metering went wrong and set the shutter to something very high, i.e 2k + but then the next shots were around 150th of a second, i.e normal.
When I realised the issue i changed over bodys (and did some reshoots)
Having a better look over the weekend i couldn't replicate the metering going wrong, but if i forced with AV the shutter to 2k or higher i found the same issue with a black partial image and lots of "noise". On previous weddings something when shooting a white dress in the sun at something like 2.8 i can hit very fast shutter speeds, bit nervous about using that body now just in case i miss a shot i can't reshoot
Have done a factory reset on the camera in case it was a setting gone wrong, but still have the occasional issue.
just wondered if you have any thoughts?
Thanks
Chris
