Just an idle thought about the higher res of the new LCD screens. Does anyone know if the preview image has also increased in res/quality to match the improved screen?

Surely it has to be of appropriate resolution? Otherwise there's no point!

Well I know the preview size of models with a the old LCD is a higher resolution than the LCD but I just wondered if the preview itself had increased in quality/res.

I think it loads the raw file because if you zoom in it refreshes after a fraction of a second with a higher res sample.

Hmm, I doubt the 50D is decoding the raw files, possibly the refresh is just a UI thing where it zooms the pixels it has whilst it fetches the real data from memory.

It would be nice to have a camera that let you pixel peep at 100% zoom a raw image file rather than a low res and fluffy jpeg.
