550D video editing help needed!?

Hey guys, Just taken some 1080p footage on the canon 550D.

Now i have Sony Vegas 9.0 as a video editer. But the movie quality is just wayyyy to slow to edit. Im just wondering if anyone out there knows how to edit and then upload onto youtube in still perfect quality?

what do you mean slow? as in too long to process it or the frame rate is slow?

i prefer to shoot at 720p at a higher frame rate on the 550d

I mean, the video is jumpy, basicly I'm just not sure how to get the best quality out of my videos so I can upload onto YouTube

It might be the graphics on your pc, video uses a lot memory to run smoothly, have you tried viewing it on another computer?

It works fine on say windows media player. It's just when I put it on Sony vegas. Someone said cause the 550D files are big it lags but if you save it as a MPEG2 it will be fine but I can't seem to save it. Have you uploaded 1080p to YouTube from a 550D camera
