Thats the confusion.... they work fine in the camera, but fail to be read on my new laptop. My old laptop reads them fine :cuckoo:

Slide the "lock" switch to -locked- on the card before putting them in the card reader.

It doesn't make sense, but it's the only way I can read large files from an SD card with my laptop. It's a known-fix, even if the problem that it fixes isn't understood.

Hi Alastair, thank you for the advice. Tried your tip, but no joy :shake: No worries though, for as long as I can download by connecting to the camera via USB then I can still download. Thank again.

Hi Gary

Have you tried an older card / different card in your new laptop to see if it will see / read that card ?

You have checked it's going in the right way up on your laptop - I don't mean to be insulting at all, it's just I get confused with our Sony Laptop and have tried the SD card upside sown in it before

been there to, my old Dell laptop suddenly decided it didn't have a card reader anymore,
when it prised the case open the cable connector was loose.
