7D battery

Unfortunately you won't get one cheaper than that. With the chip that Canon have included it makes it very difficult for third party manufacturers to copy it exactly with the chip, meaning Canon can charge ridiculous prices.

Hmmm, Amazon were doing them for £48 a few weeks back....picked up three whilst the going was good. I suspect that they'll have another offer if you're prepared to wait a wee while.

£57.50 at Amazon Bob, looks like I wil get one from Kerso.

Why are 3rd part not an option?

I ordered 3 with a charger yesterday for £21

I hope i didnt waste my money...

Apparently 3rd party batteries won't display all the charge remaining details etc.

I think Bristol Camera bad a fairly good price - £54.

The BG-E7 was a good price from there too!

There's also a plausible theory that the body can record the use of non-chipped batteries...this could invalidate warranty.

Now thats scary. I just may put them one side until the year is up.
I did get an excellent deal on 12 x 2000mh AA batteries the other day in Maplin for €14 (euro) / approx £11 and i will be testing them in the BGE7 cartridge soon.

My experience with rechargeable MH AAs from maplin has been good up to now so im optimistic.
