A couple of shots of the Milky Way

Despite it being midsummer and the moon currently full there was a brief window of clear sky after the moon early last Monday morning to capture a couple of shots of the milky way from our holiday cottage.

Taken with a Nikon D7100 and Tokina 11-16mm lens.

Might just be over sharpened by the looks, tho' don't know how you have processed the images

Still you have taken an opportunity and made the most of it.

Thanks Mark, yes I agree they do look slightly too sharpened. I think it doesn't help these are the low DPI versions I have out on Flickr too. It's always that balance of bring out the detail in the Milky Way and making the image too noisy .

Thank you Sara, I really appreciate your feedback. Yes it's not the best time of year and it was coming up to a full moon so hopefully will get some more chances later in summer.
