A fEE message in my Nikon

My Nikon D300s is giving me a fEE message when using my Nikkor lens 85mm 1:1.4D when trying to use it at 1.4. :razz:

It only allows me to shoot when locked at 16. So, what's happening? It doesn't make any sense. I purchased this lens basically to take advantage of its 1.4!

Please, your advice will be highly appreciated.

Hi just lock it at F16,then change the aperture on the camera body,or you can go into the menu on the body,and change it to aperture control by the lens

As Simon just said, the Nikkor lens aperture has to be set to it's smallest setting, and locked there. The lens has a locking button just by the aperture ring to do this, then just alter the aperture with the front dial on the camera.
