The leg feathers on the Harris Hawk are sharp, but unfortunately that's about it as far as sharpness goes. I can't see any exif data, so unable to say what you might have done differently, but a D700 should imo be capable of better results, particularly on a perched subject. Nice work on the chicken wire though, I would not have been able to tell at all.

Len's was wide open @ 2.8, should have probably closed it downa bit for better DoF. The Harris wasn't too far away so DoF is pretty shallow. Same issue with the Golden Eagle. The Perrigrine was moving fast, again len's was wide open. Should have pushed the ISO to get the SS up and closed the aperture down I guess?

So much to learn!!
