Interesting shots - I prefer the first 2 with the second taking it for me. It's an interesting pattern 
Could you have moved the leaf out of the frame on the right?
The 3rd doesn't really work for me and in #4 the lighting is too harsh, giving you shadow and blown areas.

Good point about the leaf. I hadn't really thought about it and of course it's so obvious!
And yeah the lighting in the 4th, I know what you mean. I tend not to review my shots much on the camera to check, though sometimes I'll bracket my shots but I don't think I did in this case.
