The way I see it, I think you omitted to
process your files, Ben, didn't you?

They will definitely benefit from some processing (which is an essential part if photography).

I did limit it to cropping for most of them. The gull on the sign had some work though as it was even worse to begin with.
I want to wait until I have a calibrated screen before spending a lot of time processing again.

When you shoot subjects (birds) with a lot of sky in the background, this is where positive exposure compensation comes into play.

Second one, the focus seems to be on the boats in the background.

And, it's always nice to try and get to eye-level or, at least, a lower perspective

Was difficult to get low in the boat. The second one, I heard them taking off and span round to try and capture them.
