Hi, i am slowly getting to grips with my 7d and BIF ,however today i photographed a kestrel hovering 30/40 ft away on my 100-400 ,the conditions were cloudy(grey) and i had my settings on C1 set up for BIF .....Normaly that would be fine(good sunny day) but i managed to just get a dark bird against a light background now i believe i should be using EV compensation and wanted to know would i loose detail doing this or would trying to recover in lightroom be a option or would non of these options give me full details or a good result......Or just accept that you are not going to get good results from a grey sky and a dark bird.
