A wee bit of advice needed

I have been asked to photograph a few kids and i was wondering what size of pictures should i supply the parents with. I am not charging for this as i am trying to gain experience. I was also wondering whether i should include borders or not. Any advice would be appreciated. I know i could just ask the parents but i am giving them a disc with their photos too so they can get prints done themselves too. I just thought it would look less ameturish if i gave them all the same package.

If you're not charging then just give them a CD with the full sized images on, try to keep the dimensions standard when you crop so that they don't have to crop further into the image when they want them printed.

If they're printing them then I wouldn't put borders onto your images, I'm not a fan of borders anyway (I used to be).

If you were charging that's when I'd resize the images to a really poor resolution and watermark them.

The other point of view is that if you put a border with your name in then it's free publicity for when they show the pictures to their friends/relatives. Of course they can get rid of it if they like but they probably will just print as is.
