Address on website

Hey people
Do you only need to add your address on your website if you offer a service or do you need it if you sell items as well?

I was always under the impression you shouldn't have it on your website unless you run a website business as it advertises where you live and saying to people come along and take all my stuff etc..

But surely you only need it if you own a studio? We just say we are based in the South West of England

I suppose it depends on the service, if you walk dogs, the south west of England is a big area.

Registered companies must by law display there company address as well as company number and other stuff.. This became law in either 07 or 08 I cant remeber exactly

Yes but their campany address could be anywhere, eg, layers, accountants etc

I didn't say that.. I know reg companies need to to it.. I dont know if the law has since been extended to small business or people offering e-commerce... Last I heard it was registered business only...

I sell online.. I dont have my phone number or address... the police havent knocked at my door

ok - will take this into account - but I think at the moment we will leave details off as we don't sell on the website it's through other sites..
