Hi there,

Im just about to buy a new (budget) photo printer.

I want a machine for everyday use that will also be capable of good quality prints. I dont want a machine that only does a 7x5 or a vary large machine - just the mid sized one.

Some reviews are suggesting the Epson P50 (£80 delivered). Anyone have any advice? need to think about cost of replacement ink too. What are you guys using? Budget up to £120 - Thanks :)

That sounds like it will do the job, six inks are good for photographs and it used Claria ink as well which is good for longevity. You'll be able to buy compatible inks if Epsons ones prove too costly.

Before you go buy a P50 have a realy good readup un the web. They aren't that good apparently.

Maybe look at a budget one on 3000rpm.com I'm not affiliated but have dealt with them before.

An old R285 R300 R320 or R800 would be good to start with. I use an R300 and it still gives good output.

I also have an ancient 2000p for A3.

All are Epsons but I believe Canon do some great printers in the Pixma range as well.

Thanks to all
:)

Ive got a canon pixma ip4500, i have had no issues with it, prints to cd/dvd as well which is cool. Ive recently added a CISS (continuos ink supply system) system to it which greatly reduces the cost of ink, and my prints look identical to canons ink. check ebay to see what printers can use them, mainly canon or epson, can save a fortune if you print a lot.

I have a Canon Pixma - think its 600 or 610. All in one scanner thing but it prints good quality prints.

:plusone: for the Canon Pixma range, I used to have an Epson and swopped to the Canon and I'm very pleased with the difference, much better prints in my view
