I'm having trouble opening ICC files on my PC, not even sure what they are, but i have had this trouble in the past, i've just been trying to download DSCL,s profiles for printing when it happened again, i get directed to a box saying windows cannot open the file, then when i click on the search the web option i get asked to download a free registry software to fix the problem but as we all know they are never free so then you get directed to another box asking for £30, anyway i'm hoping someone on here can help, i'm running windows XP, this is the DSCL page HERE thanks in advance :)

You don't open the file but simply drop it into the correct location within the Windows folder (see the DSCL instructions).

You will then be able to select this ICC profile within the drop down list of profiles within your editing program.

It's very similar to adding a new font.

ICC files are mac orientated, ICM files are required under windows.

from a websearch

ICC VERSUS ICM PROFILES ICC designates International Color Consortium profiles used with the Macintosh operating system. ICM designates Integrated Color Management profiles used with the Windows operating system. ICC and ICM profiles are interchangeable (cross platform) between either operating system. The only difference is that, if an ICC profile is going to be used with the Windows operating system, it must have a file extension of.ICM."
