we are having a day out at chester zoo can anyone give me any tips for getting some good photos?

Sue, with zoos, focal length of the lens is all important really. You get animals which are fairly close and some which are in larger compounds and are further away, so really you need either a couple of fixed focal length (prime) lenses, or a reasonable tele zoom. The last two visits I've made to zoos, my 100-400L never came off the camera, so I humped a bag of gear around all day for nothing really. :puke:

Hmmm sorry well i have been now, I took my new Canon ESO 350D that I got as a wedding present last week from Darksaber, i have the lens it came with and another zoom lens, sorry not very good at the technical stuff only just getting into this. Managed to take 250 photos so will have to look through them and see if any of them are any good.
