Hi
I am trying to find out if this can be used with a x 1.4 or x 2 converter and if so can it retain AF? any help much appreciated.
 
Only with Kenko TCs such as the Pro 300,

(older Sigma non-DG TC's with screw drive will also work - always try to buy non-DG with screwdrive fit if you can. DG went HSM only, so no good for this lens)

Thank you i hoped one of the Non Nikons would fit and need Af as have an eye problem.

I can confirm what Andy says (just tried it).

The Nikon converters won't work as the first element of the converter projects into the lens and won't physically mount.

The Kenko first element is recessed so there isn't a problem and AF works fine.
