No, generally don't use filters, certainly never used any at air shows.

Have done the Eastbourne and Shoreham airshows for years, the only filters on my lens are the UV but only to protect the lens.

I use a 3 stop ND for ground stuff with props on my 70-200, give a nice DOF. Keep meaning to buy a drop in CP for my 500mm but they're not cheap!

A UV for the protection of the front optic, or maybe a CP if the lighting suits (gain up to 2 stops for statics).
