If I'm going then I can safely say it'll be wet!! Lol

It flew low over ours early this afternoon heading North from Lincolnshire, unless I have mis identified one of the most identifiable airframes out there.

Thats good news Mike (I presume you meant the Vulcan)

Glad to hear it's flying again, hope everything is okay and it gets to fly at weekend

I hope it rains :lol:as I bought a ticket and now have to work :'( hope its nice for those who are going.

It completed its first test flights this afternoon so its all looking good for the weekend.

Hopefully it stays bright for you. I'd love to go, but I completely forgot it was on and can't find anyone else that would like to go. I'll only be making it to Clacton this year, but hopefully the Vulcan will be there.

According to the latest official RIAT Participation List, published on the 29/6/12, the Vulcan will be displaying.

They have also confirmed the B-2 Stealth bomber which hasn't been seen since 2004! That will be a special site as well.

Yes, a very special site - just a real shame it's in the static display, rather than flying...

I think they have a B-2 stealth bomber at most airshows, it just works that well... lol!
Seriously, I'd love to see some pics of it, the only time I've ever seen it was the first year it was introduced and never had a camera back then. Hope the weather stays good for you and will look forward to seeing the results.

catch it arriving. ;)

Kev.

Would love to catch it arriving or departing for that matter....

Just too far to make another trip

If the weather is raining all day, do the planes stay grounded, or do they go up regardless?? I went last year, and although it started wet, it actually had periods of sun and blue skies. If it rains and the planes still fly, then that's fine by me. If it rains and the planes are grounded, that really will be a disappointment.

Depends on the aircraft. Some still fly, some don't.
The bigger issue is if they do still fly, you can't actually see them, as the cloud is often very low.
Some do have alternative routines for if the weather is bad, I believe the A10 last year adapted its routine because the cloud dropped. It wasn't as exciting as the routine they had practiced on the Friday, but was still good to see it in the air.

I've just bought my ticket, now I've GOT to go!

Have you opted for sat or sun ?

Weathers looking very mixed at the moment for both days and depending on which forecast you look at, it changes again !!!

Saturday as we have a family BBQ on Sunday, which is about as sensible as going to RIAT!

It would be good if those of us going could meet up, good for a chat and looking after someones gear if they need to pay a visit :D

They've put a weather forecast on the site from the Met office, hopefully it will be kept up to date

Well I can tell you its really not pleasant in Gloucester about 15 miles away from RIAT at the moment. I can still hear aircraft flying about though, so they are obviously still coming in.
Glad I'm not going this year, last year wasn't great for weather, this year looks worse!

Could we come back to your place to dry out and get a cuppa? :)

That'll be a big fat no. I think my wife would leave forever. One muddy photographer in the house is enough to send her into a mood for a week!

I will be there, I don't know what all the fuss is about. Take some waterproof shoes/boots and an umbrella. On the forecast it says but 12/1pm it will stop raining and brighten up.

It's alright chaps I've just been out and bought some gortex boots and waterproof jacket for tomorrow so I can safely say that the sun will be shining tomorrow!!!lol

Well after all the weather reports telling me about lots of rain, I donned my waterproof shoes, trousers, and jacket, and not one drop of rain all day there. I came home with sunburn as it actually turned into a very good day. Awesome displays by super talented pilots. Great day out.
