Just dont fall into a trap a lot of people, myself included, fall into of getting accepted, taking ages to keyword etc your first load of shots then never bothering to upload any more :(

Exactly - stock work is a job in itself and needs great commitment to really stand a chance of earning from it

Also, and no dig at the OP ;), they don't need to be great or even especially good shots artistically; a mate of mine has over 10,000 stock images out there (not sure where though) and earns relatively little from it - he's just hoping that in 20 yrs when he retires he'll have over 100,000 images out there giving him a pension

cheers guys i'll prob go with just licenced ;)

i am not expecting to earn much if anything from here. but there is more chance than if they are sat on my hard drive

Dont rule out royalty free, I recently swapped all mine over to royalty free from licensed and they are doing over 5 times the sales in £ than the same time last year. If they aren't selling on licensed then that's £0 income but if they sell on royalty free then it £££.
Royalty free has in the past had a stigma attached to it but for me so far I'm well happy with it.
According to some stats published by alamy royalty free images are more likely to be searched first than any other category (to do with licensing.)

How do you change the license type? I thought once you selected one that was it and you couldn't change it

Mine are all licensed but I have often wondered if royalty free would generate more sales. I think royaly free is a set amount per photo just depending on the size, where as licensed you pay depending on your usage requirements - so without knowing what the customer wants size wise, its hard to say which type of license is going to be cheaper for them to buy. It's a right old pain lol

EDIT: Although I reckon royalty free may be cheaper in many cases.

That is very true, I removed my images from alamy then resubmitted them, it took a while but its now how i want them, i also took the opportunity to re-edit some of them.

Well done Mate.
Would love to get some images onto there, just have to find some good enough:lol:
Dean:)

Congrats Dave  I bet your tickled Pink :D

can't help with your questions though sorry

You've started - now keep at it - I have my images with five different libraries - the more the merrier. Sold a shot last week for $X00! You need a lot of images to get regular sales.

cheers guys:thumbs:

i have no thoughts of living off them:lol: but my thoughts are they have more chance of selling there than on my hd.

need to send some more in now..

if anyone is interested " jack russell puppies studio" will show some of mine :naughty: but which nes are mine.. my boy charlie spotted them on the site:lol:"
