hi everyone! I hope you’re all well and had a lovely Christmas!

I’m on another photography forum with family photographers and a lady on there has had several photos of her daughter stolen and used by Ali express and other similar companies. The smaller boutique shops who buy wholesale from them are also using the photos on social media to advertise the products.

What can she do? I believe she’s already reported stolen photos on Instagram, but is there anything else she can do? Feel so frustrated for her, bad enough having photos stolen but of your own children? Awful :(

By the way, the clothes the little girl is wearing in the photos aren’t even from ali express, but Ali express copied the design and then stole the photographs.

Any help appreciated. Thank you!

Theres another photography forum ?????

Now now, TP is not the only place to play

This would be the first place to complain about copywrite theft, but it looks like a chinese company so have no idea how they would respond

Hmmm! part of Alibaba.......................sadly as noted by Bazza @realspeed i doubt 'they' care about such matters as copyright infringements though with them trying to reach more into non Chinese markets you would think they might take more care to conform to the laws of the territories they want to trade in???

Good point but was there not a post recently that Pixys have yet to get access to the Chinese area???

But maybe usefull for other global locations with co-infringers???

look on there and find intellectual property rights( under contact us ) except it is all in Chinese

OK looks like you can get it in English here

Of note under the FAQs they say this

Q: What is Intellectual Property Protection Platform?
A: The objective of Alibaba Intellectual Property Protection Platform is to facilitate rights holder on intellectual property right protection in a cooperative manner over various Websites under the Alibaba Group.

Hope your friend can get some resolution :)

The odds of getting anything for copyright infringement in China are pretty poor sadly. They have virtually no respect for intellectual property whatsoever. It is partly a cultural thing, based on their strange breed of communism.

Oops my bad didn’t realise it was a Chinese company
