Nope, that didn't work.I've seen it suggested that rebooting the phone helps so will try that.

That's probably why you've been 'validated'.Hmm … I’ve been on Apple since (about) 2015. And I have certainly used a credit/debit card directly on Apple a good few times, including Apple subscriptions for extra storage.
I had to hover over SHMBO's licence for quite a time, both sides.Beginning to lose my patience! I don't have a credit card and it won't recognise my driving licence!

They won't accept debit card or passport just U.K driving licence.
It also mentions a a national I.D card which we also don't have in the U.K
Interesting because Apple told me themselves that there was no way for a passport to be accepted. They can accept passports from other countries they said but not the U.K.Some people have been able to use a passport by scanning the same side twice. The same caveats apply about sufficient light and placing it on a dark background apply.
We do, but there's a price and a waiting list. Might be better for some than going the Android route.

They also said they were aware that the U.K had no national identity card. That is there because it is available elsewhere.
Wife and I have one each but we pay it off automatically every month.I don't have a credit card haven't done for over 20 years vile things.
I know how a credit card worksWife and I have one each but we pay it off automatically every month.
It's more secure than a debit card, because the limit being exceeded should block the card. Moreover, the crooks can't get access to our main accounts through it.
I assumed you do.I know how a credit card worksand have no need for one.

Problem is that in Northern Ireland according to Apple anyway our licence is slightly different to the normal U.K one although that doesn't sound right to me and I can't find any mention of it online so it would not accept my licence apparently has already been raised as an issue and they are working on it.
Are they on a non-powered hub?Just updated my Mac Mini to the latest version of OS and most of my external drives were no longer showing. I have recovered all but one so far. It is not unusual for this for to happen after an update, but it is annoying.

How many drives have you managed to connect directly to a Mac Mini? Genuinely interested for my future reference. All connected directly to the Mac Mini.

I’ve been tempted by similar hubs for my Mac Studio, but I have heard mixed things about reliability.I have 4 external drives. I try to keep all my files, other than the system and program files, on external drives.
Two M.2 2280 PCIe Gen3 NVMe in enclosures.
One Seagate One Touch portable HDD drive.
One M.2 SATA III 2280 Internal SSD which is included in a Satechi Mac Mini Hub. This is the one that I cannot currently connect. I looks like the hub has failed.
I have a Mac Mini M2 Pro.
