Yes
Just another day trundling into the office this morning. Spied a load of people outside the local station. Assumed it was maybe a fire alarm, or a bomb threat.

Got a little closer and spied quite a few police and crowds of people along with a car which looked very familiar .... then realised it was the royal Bentley!

Dumped my car, wondered if by chance I had my camera bag in the car ... nope "b****r". Wandered back up and had a natter to some people there. Turns out the Queen was coming through on her way to some royal engagements in the local area.

Absolutely gutted not to have my camera gear with me, so had to make do with the iPhone! Still managed to get a few pics from about 1.5 feet away, and it made my day! :D

but then again ! sometimes you feel like you need to have every lens with you. not just a light kit lens, but superzoom as well, wide angle etc, etc.

a 18-400mm would do the trick :D .

I've had my compact fixed and I carry it with me everywhere now, usually to snap sunsets or nice scenery or whatever when i'm out and about without my SLR. At ISO 100 my compact really is more than acceptable.

I learned this in the early 50s when I lived in London and used to cycle from Bethnal Green to Oxford Street via Fleet Street every day. I carried a Robot Royal 36s loaded with FP2 in my pocket and, if I came across anything interesting, I'd drop the film off on Fleet Street on my way home. Made a few pennies that way.;)

Judging by my brothers facebook wall she went to his college to open a new building. Think he goes to one in Nantwich.

Yes - she want to Reaseheath College, then onto Chester racecourse for some military presentation I believe.

done this on more than one occasion, went out without a camera only to find loads of potentials for shots :bang:

I have a Nikon P5100 compact, it's great but I usually forget to take it with me when my DSLR isn't with me. Another thing is leaving your camera on a setting from a previous shoot, been there done that a load of photos wasted (wasn't important though, just a pleasure shoot) nevertheless, I always turn my mode back to auto or programme when finished now.

I always have at least my compact with me, SLR is usually at least in the car if not in my hand...Never seen the queen but we spotted Princess Ann leaving the back of Sydney Opera House in 2003 and I got a couple of snaps.
