Just had an Amazon delivery and the driver kindly mentioned a policy change.
In future they will leave any parcels in your designated safe place without attempting to knock/ring at the door.
This is to save time so they can give more drops to their drivers.
Be warned if you designate a safe place and the package gets stolen you have no recourse

If you delete the safe place instructions on your account they will then have to knock and if no answer try to call you for instructions.

Amazon, Evri et almost c. leave the parcels in the nominated safe place. The almost bit is the Post Office who just leave parcels/packages on the doorstep, without ringing or tapping.

Weirdly the RM guys here are excellent at leaving packages in my safe place. The amazon drivers are terrible for dumping stuff on the front doorstep in full view of the street.

That's exactly what ours sometimes do. We don't even have a front garden either, we are right on the footpath.
Despite the worst that Royal Mail's management can do, there are still posties who are conscientious and helpful. Ours is just one example.

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear. RM are usually pretty good and our postman is great - my mum's postman is like your best friend!

It's the 'others' that usually leave it in full view. I actually ordered a Canon scanner, and the wife was home when it was "delivered". I was over at the lock up & had a notification that it was 2 stops away so text her to say keep an eye or ear out for it.... When I got home about an hour later it was on the doorstep. Luckily. Because it was in the standard Canon box bright red & white with CANON SCANNER in big writing across the front of it. How it was still there I don't know because we aren't in the poshest of areas!

Perhaps the local scroats have been watching too many of these type of videos

I've caught Amazon delivery drivers a few times not so much as tapping the door. So far so good, we've not had any parcel gone AWOL, but you bet they take their photo to prove they delivered it!

I caught one last week doing that and he mumbled on about how he had a bad leg?
Strange excuse especially considering the front door was closer than where he placed the item.
