America from the air

as above.... this is a computer generated imagery- but pretty good though...

All computer generated imagery?

Care to state your source because I'm pretty good as spotting CGI, and while there is some within this video I would be very surprised if it all was.

It's not all CGI. The planes at the start and some other effects are CGI, but mostly it's photography.

camera skills though? Exposure will be pre-set and then it's strapped to the bottom of a helicopter. The only skill here I admire is the pilot's :)

Isn't usage of photographic textures and backgrounds standard stuff for CGI?

It's from a company called Super 78 and I understand that this footage is from a 'virtual tour' machine that was installed in China.

Here's a link to some of their stock images

Indeed it is, and I agree some elements are definately CGI.

For me I guess it depends on what the main subject is really. Since the main subject is (or appears to be) the impressive flyby cinematography (As David said, pilot skills) with CGI added in. I read Terry's response as suggesting the entire sequence was computer generated.

It's mega cheesey is what it is. Feels like they're taking you to Disney, with all the fake and cringe inducing "Hi everybody" and "Good morning!!" shouts from the clearly added in people. Tonnes of CGI going on too. It would be better without the people, and the annoying plane, and the annoying music ...

But remember it is basically a fairground ride/show - not my cup of tea (or yours by the sound of it) but I reckon it is intended for the same sort of crowds that you'd get at Disney - from their bumf:

"Any venue that requires a unique projection surface or screen also needs a custom designed film to integrate with the ride system or moving seats and the special lighting or the in-theater effects. That’s our specialty. We are, at our core, Special Venue and immersive producers. We know how to break that 4th wall and create fully interactive-audience-participatory experiences. Many of the challenges that face us include how the movie seamlessly integrates with the rest of the show."

I guess so, I just found the whole thing really naff, but some people love all that.
