I've just had a pretty amazing experience, so I'll share it with you
I have found a reserve! A valley with a small lake at the back. It has a lot of birds of prey living around.
I was sitting on the corner of a field in my car with my camera. The light started to drop so I was unable to take photos as my camera lens is ***** (sigma 170-500mm f/5-6.3).
I saw two leverets jump into the path infront of me, but then they ran back into cover. Then, a short eared owl swooped in. I was watching it hunt literally 15 feet infront of me. It was beautiful!
But then what made my day was when I looked to my left. Sat 6 foot away from me was a huge, silver hare with huge yellow eyes. I've never seen, in real life or in a photo, such a beautiful hare as this one was, and I live amongst them. It was just staring at me. :O
I lifted up my camera, but it ran away. However, the good news is the reserve has decided to give me permission to set up my hide in the valley. So from tomorrow until wednesday I will be out every evening to try and capture the beauty! You never know, I might strike lucky and get it with its leverets!
Wish me luck!
Hope you enjoyed my story.
