Sorry to all those I upset today. too much caffeine, I guess...

As has been pointed out to me on numerous occasions, I have a habit of putting things rather bluntly and for responding to negative comments about those remarks even more bluntly...Please bear that in mind - it's in my nature and I'm too old to go changing now. if you can get past that I occasionally have something useful to contribute.
I do appreciate the indulgence shown me by the Mods and also appreciate that patience is a finite virtue.

I should also try and remember that we all started somewhere and with a lot less knowledge than most of us now take for granted.
If a question is put along the lines of "I know nothing, please help me out..." then I'll be there for you along with most of the other people on here to hold your hand and walk you through the problem.

Please: if I overstep the mark, wait a bit, then PM me and tell me so - I can be quite reasonable if approached from upwind...

Now; I'm going to clean the windows...:razz:
 
It's too late, I've already done The Bad Thing now.

It's your fault. You made me do it. I only hope you're pleased with yourself.
 
i really get a jekyl and hyde impression from you, but its nice to see you are soft and cuddly underneath:D

It's just a forum.. I would be suprised if anyone gets really upset about anything anyone posts :) It's not real life :)

Well, if there are any professional window cleaners out there who'd care to pass on any tips, I may be cleaning some windows soon at a friend's house - just a guest, you understand...
 
It takes a man to appologies, I always have difficulty in getting across a point without looking like a knob or it being blunt, this can be the trouble with the written word, it can interpreted in a totally different way when read to how it was meant when written.

Enjoy cleaning your friends windows, as a guest. ;)

I'm sure they'll be happy to offer guidance on how wide to open them, or whether to leave the curtains closed to limit the amount of light coming in :D

I missed said thread
but to be honest too many people take "things" a little too seriously on the Internet.
13,000 odd ( very odd in some cases :D) members are not all going to get along...........
Ah well gotta go rinse the shammy

As one old man to another, if I may, one is never too old to change. One simply has to summon up the will and the energy. Sometimes as we get older it can take a little longer, that's all. Oh, and humility helps quite a lot too.
